Abstract: L'edizione critica di "Pavane" di Regina Back e Douglas Woodfull-Harris tiene conto delle varie ristampe della versione originale per pianoforte, nonché della partitura manoscritta della versione orchestrale del 1909 e delle numerose ristampe fino alla morte di Ravel nel 1937. Nella prefazione, gli editori ripercorrono la storia della composizione. Sono state anche utilizzate le registrazioni pianistiche del compositore e le registrazioni orchestrali fatte durante la sua vita sotto la sua direzione. Abstract: This edition contains a selection of the easiest piano pieces and dances by Maurice Ravel. Piano music occupies an important place in his output and often contains dance-like elements. Fortunately Ravel, although a virtuoso pianist, also wrote easier music for the instrument.
